About the Role:

Are you highly organised and enjoy providing effective support services to a team? Then we want to hear from you!

We are seeking an experienced Business Support Officer to join our Portland Aluminium team.

Working on a part time basis of 15 hours a week, you will be accountable for providing administrative, organisational and information management support to internal and external customers adding value to the business by delivering a cost effective, prompt, reliable and timely support service.

Responsibilities include:

  • Attends training and meetings to understand plant processes and procedures.

  • Provides project management and audit support using relevant software and office equipment.

  • Prepares reports, presentations, meeting agendas, and minutes accurately and timely.

  • Maintains accurate records, including safety, medical, inductions, and training.

  • Facilitates communication for internal and external customers, handling messages and mail distribution.

  • Coordinates special events professionally to meet business expectations.

  • Applies ABS terminology and principles to reports and processes.

  • Reduces administrative expenses by managing stationery and catering within budget.

  • Supports HR by compiling information and maintaining records.

  • Maintains site drawing information system, ensuring accurate cataloging and register of technical drawings.

What you can bring to the role:

  • Experience of working in an office environment where you provided support services with a high level of organisational skill in managing priorities

  • Familiar with Microsoft packages and ability to pick up systems easily

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to be adaptable and work under pressure

  • Respectful of sensitive or confidential information.

  • Happy to work independently or within in a team environment

Our Portland Smelter is a joint venture between Alcoa of Australia (55%), CITIC (22.5%) and Marubeni Aluminium Australia (22.5%).
