About the role:

Alcoa is committed to conducting all of its operations around the globe ethically and in compliance with all applicable laws.  Our Directors and management believe that the way we achieve results is as important as the results themselves.  The Ethics & Compliance team is responsible for Alcoa's Ethics & Compliance Program, ensuring adherence to applicable laws, regulations and internal policies.  Reporting to the Director of Alcoa's Anti-Corruption Program, the Compliance Analyst will support the organization's efforts to maintain a culture of integrity and compliance.  The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, monitoring compliance initiatives, and promoting a strong culture of integrity.  The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive and eager to grow in the ethics and compliance field.  This junior level position is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to global compliance frameworks in a dynamic and collaborative environment. 

  • Assist in the execution and continuous improvement of Alcoa's Ethics & Compliance Program
  • Ensure policies and procedures are up-to-date and align with regulatory requirements
  • Support the design and delivery of ethics and compliance training programs
  • Assist in conducting internal investigations regarding potential policy violations or ethical concerns
  • Administer company-wide conflicts of interest survey to identify actual or potential conflicts of interests
  • Assist with administration of day-to-day intermediary review and renewal process; screen new intermediary requests for red flags; administer review with in-house legal counsel on appropriate level of due diligence based on direction from Supervisor; administer approval workflows; escalates issues as appropriate
  • Administer processes to review and approve any gifts, hospitalities or travel provided to government officials, as well as corporate charitable contributions; coordinate/conduct appropriate desktop due diligence and manages approval workflows
  • Manage internal email boxes associated with Ethics & Compliance programs
  • Review, adjudicate and escalate as appropriate red flags identified in relation to the Supplier Due Diligence screenings.
  • Create and maintain up to date metrics regarding Alcoa's Ethics & Compliance Program activities
  • Acquire, maintain and apply up-to-date expertise in anti-corruption due diligence best practices
  • Support implementation of FCPA self-assessment controls testing and audits
  • Assist with development of quarterly Ethics & Compliance newsletter

What you can bring to this role:

  • 1-3 years professional experience. Exposure to some type of compliance activities is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree is a plus.
  • Strong computer knowledge; excellent MS Word, Excel, , and PowerPoint skills.
  • Must be self-motivated, dependable, adaptable and detail oriented with a proven ability to work independently or within a team environment.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities under demanding deadlines.
  • Demonstrate excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
