About the role:

The role of the ESG Disclosures Director will be to develop and drive strategic execution of Alcoa's ESG reporting strategy in alignment with our business strategy and values.  This position will lead our ESG reporting and disclosure activities by working cross-functionally with both internal and external stakeholders to coordinate and streamline routine and unplanned ESG reporting. The role will drive strategic analysis of ESG ratings and reviews, understanding our strengths and key improvement opportunities, as well as engage with external stakeholders to gain insight on emerging ESG risks/opportunities and upcoming regulatory changes. In addition, this role will support the communications team in ESG messaging and reporting.

Core Activities

• Develop and maintain an ESG reporting strategy that provides transparency, is aligned with regulatory requirements, and supports Alcoa's business priorities and the needs and expectations of our stakeholders.

• Lead cross-functional collaboration with internal business partners, including finance, legal, investor relations, operations, commercial, communications and subject matter experts across the business to coordinate and consolidate accurate and timely ESG disclosure reports.  

• Oversee data collection and prepare submissions to ESG ratings and research firms, including DJSI, CDP, S&P Global, MSCI, Sustainalytics, and others.

• Manage inquiries and requests from customers, investors, ratings agencies, and others regarding ESG related matters, providing information and support as needed.

• Provide expertise and support in preparing for future regulatory frameworks and disclosure requirements.

• Review and interpret data and reports by ESG firms and ratings agencies, and partner with firms/agencies to update and ensure accuracy of data reported.

• Analyze performance and positioning with respect to ESG ratings and prepare internal ESG reports detailing findings and highlighting opportunities for improvement.

• Benchmark peer reporting and disclosure practices, conduct ESG gap analyses, and make recommendations for improvements in metrics and disclosure.

• Identify emerging ESG reporting risks, challenges, and opportunities through ongoing monitoring of ESG developments and external forums/working groups in order to inform internal stakeholders and advise on appropriate actions.

• Work with communications colleagues on external reporting, fact sheets, web content and other ESG related content and communications for a variety of stakeholders and channels.

What you can bring to this role:

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field (sustainability, environment, social performance, or other).

• 8 years+ relevant experience in an ESG related field or function.

• Proven success guiding strategy and managing multiple ESG/sustainability/CSR/etc projects

• Experience with ESG reporting standards, requirements and frameworks, including SASB, TCFD, GRI, etc., and producing ESG reporting content for a global audience

• Ability to identify ESG disclosure performance gaps and communicate risks and opportunities

• Expertise in program management, collaboration and communication skills

• Ability to work cross functionally to engage, monitor, and advise on a broad set of ESG topics.

• Resourceful, self-motivated and able to independently prioritize shifting workloads

• Ability to work in a matrix organization structure with a large group of ESG content owners

• Experience working successfully to drive cross-functional alignment with highly distributed teams.

Le rôle du directeur des rapports ESG sera de développer et de diriger l'exécution stratégique de la stratégie de rapport ESG d'Alcoa en accord avec notre stratégie d'entreprise et nos valeurs. 

Le titulaire de ce poste dirigera nos activités de rapport et de divulgation ESG en travaillant de manière transversale avec les parties prenantes internes et externes afin de coordonner et de rationaliser les rapports ESG de routine et non planifiés. Il conduira l'analyse stratégique des notations et des examens ESG, en comprenant nos points forts et les principales possibilités d'amélioration, et s'engagera auprès des parties prenantes externes pour obtenir des informations sur les risques/opportunités ESG émergents et sur les changements réglementaires à venir. En outre, il soutiendra l'équipe de communication dans l'élaboration des messages et des rapports ESG.

Tâches principales :

• Développer et maintenir une stratégie d'information ESG qui assure la transparence, s'aligne sur les exigences réglementaires et soutient les priorités commerciales d'Alcoa ainsi que les besoins et les attentes de nos parties prenantes.
• Diriger la collaboration interfonctionnelle avec les partenaires commerciaux interne, y compris les services financiers, juridiques, les relations avec les investisseurs, les opérations, les services commerciaux, les communications et les experts en la matière dans l'ensemble de l'entreprise, afin de coordonner et de consolider des rapports d'information ESG précis et opportuns. 
• Superviser la collecte des données et préparer les soumissions aux agences de notation et de recherche ESG, notamment DJSI, CDP, S&P Global, MSCI, Sustainalytics, etc.
• Gérer les demandes de renseignements et les requêtes des clients, des investisseurs, des agences de notation et autres concernant les questions liées aux ESG, en fournissant des informations et un soutien si nécessaire.
• Fournir une expertise et un soutien dans la préparation des futurs cadres réglementaires et des exigences en matière de divulgation.
• Examiner et interpréter les données et les rapports des entreprises ESG et des agences de notation, et collaborer avec les entreprises/agences pour mettre à jour et garantir l'exactitude des données communiquées.
• Analyser les performances et le positionnement par rapport aux notations ESG et préparer des rapports ESG internes détaillant les résultats et soulignant les possibilités d'amélioration.

• Travailler avec les collègues chargés de la communication sur les rapports externes, les fiches d'information, le contenu du site web et d'autres contenus et communications liés aux ESG pour une variété de parties prenantes et de canaux.
