About the Role:
Reporting to the Environmental Compliance Specialist and based at our WA Mining Hub, the successful candidate will be supported by an experienced and high-quality team and responsible for maintaining compliance with our legal obligations, supporting the continual improvement of our Environmental Management System (EMS), as well as providing support across the WA Mining locations as required.
This role will be offered on a family friendly Monday to Friday roster, with a paid leisure day off every 4 weeks, to spend more time doing the things you love.
Key responsibilities include:
Implementing the EMS to ISO14001 requirements, including aspects and impacts registers, compliance and performance tracking, training, procedures, data management, and auditing, including coordinating internal, external, and corporate audits.
Driving implementation and use of the EMS to required standards, including developing and implementing change management processes as applicable.
Monitoring and reporting on the compliance of operations in relation to Alcoa standards, regulatory requirements, and licence conditions.
Working efficiently and effectively with a multitude of key internal stakeholders.
The Environmental Compliance Advisor works both independently and as part of the compliance team ensuring the continual improvement of our EMS and associated processes, and ensuring the expectations of Alcoa corporate, regulatory bodies and the local community are being met.

What you can bring to the role:
A relevant environmental degree or equivalent industry experience
Ideally, experience in a similar role in environmental monitoring or management
Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail
Sound understanding of environmental data management including analytical and interpretation skills
Mining industry experience is desirable

About the Location
Huntly is one of our two bauxite mines in Western Australia. Established in 1976 and located east of North Dandalup in WA, it is the world's second largest bauxite mine, supplying ore to Alcoa's Pinjarra alumina refinery. Bauxite ore from Alcoa's Huntly and Willowdale mines helps to produce almost half of Australia's alumina and approximately 19 per cent of Australia's aluminium.
