You have the power to shape things to make them better.About the role: You will lead a team of HR professionals, to support operations with labor relations, employee engagement and defining HR strategy aligned with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities of the role include:
· Applying your problem solving, communication and negotiating skills to manage Labor Relations, developing and implementing robust labor relations strategies.
· Acting as the primary point of contact for union representatives and employees on labor-related matters and ensuring compliance with all relevant labor laws and regulations.
· Partnering with senior management to align HR policies and practices with business objectives and providing strategic HR support to the operations leadership team and line managers.
· Actively being involved in regional and site-based HR projects and initiatives to improve employee engagement, retention, workforce planning and talent management.
· Guiding the employee experience throughout the employee lifecycle by promoting a positive workplace culture, fostering strong employee relations, deploying employee engagement programs and initiatives to support morale and productivity on site.
What you can bring to the role:
· With a bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field, you will also have significant hands-on experience in HR, with a focus on labor relations and proven track record in negotiating collective bargaining agreements and managing contract renewals.
· Knowledge of Icelandic labor laws and regulations to handle labor-related matters will be highly beneficial.
· As a multi-tasker you will be able to organize and facilitate training sessions on HR policies, labor laws, and workplace best practices.
· Your well-developed communication skills will help you create close relationships with managers, union representatives and employees, while monitoring satisfaction and addressing any concerns promptly; and
· Ideally you will be fluent in written and spoken Icelandic and English.
