THE ROLE:
The Rack Integration Technician is responsible for assembling and integrating rack-mounted computer hardware. This position supports non-production and pre-production rack builds throughout the product development lifecycle and plays a key role in transitioning racks into the manufacturing environment for mass production.
THE PERSON:
A hands-on, mechanically inclined individual with keen attention to detail and a strong ability to follow technical instructions. A strong team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and collaborates well across engineering and production teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assemble and optimize integrated computer racks under guidance from Rack Integration Engineers.
- Lead various non-production rack builds, including evaluation units, compliance test racks, and early customer samples.
- Build and test First Article Customer Racks, ensuring specifications and quality standards are met.
- Provide critical feedback to engineering for continuous improvement of rack builds.
- Guide Production teams by incorporating lessons learned into mass production workflows.
- Perform technical reviews of rack layouts and bills of materials (BOMs) and input related data into SAP.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Proven mechanical and technical aptitude in hardware assembly, cabling, labeling, and rack integration.
- Ability to interpret and follow technical documentation, SOPs, and BOMs.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) preferred.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
