THE ROLE:

The Director of Finance, DCGPU P/L Management, will report to the Sr. Director of Finance and serve as a key member of the AI Group (AIG) Finance leadership team. This position is the primary finance business partner responsible for the overall Profit and Loss (P/L) management of AMD's Data Center GPU (DCGPU) business unit. This includes comprehensive revenue tracking and analysis, leadership of the finance team responsible for unit cost and inventory, and consolidation of the overall business unit P/L. This is a highly visible leadership role supporting a critical component of AMD's growth, demanding significant interaction with senior executives and cross-functional leaders to drive financial performance and strategic objectives for the DCGPU business.

 

THE PERSON:

We are seeking a strategic, results-oriented leader with a strong bias for action and a proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will be an expert in P/L management, with a strong analytical mindset for revenue, cost, and inventory optimization. You will be adept at managing teams, navigating ambiguity, and communicating complex financial information and insights to senior executives. You must possess strong leadership qualities, take ownership of the DCGPU P/L, drive continuous improvement in financial processes, establish best practices for revenue and inventory analytics, and build strong partnerships across the organization to ensure business unit profitability and growth.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead all aspects of P/L management for the DCGPU business unit, including weekly, quarterly, and long range revenue, margin, and inventory forecasting and analysis.
  • Oversee and direct revenue tracking and analysis, providing insights into performance, trends and competitive dynamics the AI accelerator market.
  • Own the consolidation and analytics for the DCGPU long term financial model, working across finance to incorporate product roadmap, go to market investments, market opportunities as well as new business models.
  • Manage and develop the cost and inventory finance team, supporting inventory modeling and cost optimization strategies to improve margins.
  • Drive the consolidation of the overall DCGPU business unit P/L, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and comprehensive reporting to senior management.
  • Serve as a key financial advisor to the DCGPU team, providing data-driven insights and recommendations to optimize profitability and achieve strategic objectives.
  • Develop, maintain, and oversee sophisticated financial models to support profitability analysis, scenario planning, price/volume strategies, and roadmap decisions related to the DCGPU business.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven ability to manage the full P/L for a business unit, ideally within the semiconductor or high-tech industry.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing finance teams.
  • Expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, P/L analysis, and reporting; proficiency with advanced Excel skills is required.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex P/L information, financial trends, and strategic recommendations clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
  • Self-motivated, intellectually curious, and comfortable with ambiguity, possessing a proactive approach to problem-solving and driving financial results.
  • Thorough understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial controls.
  • Semiconductor or high-tech industry experience, particularly within AI or DC products, is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in strategic finance, FP&A, or corporate finance within a complex, global organization is also beneficial.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. MBA, CFA, and/or CPA strongly preferred.
