THE ROLE: We are seeking a highly experienced and innovative Technical Director to lead the development of FPGA design flows. This senior level role is critical for the design of future FPGA products at AMD and it requires deep technical expertise in FPGA design, design flows, FPGA modeling and Software tools. The person in this role will be working with Sr technical leaders in Architecture, Product Planning, Software and Marketing and will be contributing to future product specifications and strategy. THE PERSON:
This role combines strong people leadership and teamwork skills driving cross functional teams across geographies. The person with strong technical expertise, Strong analytical and problem-solving skills working with both executive level technical and management leaders to influence and drive change.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Lead and manage a team of engineers focused on FPGA IC design methodologies to achieve best-in-class Fabric PPA • Lead the evaluation, adoption and integration of EDA tools and automation scripts to optimize FPGA development efficiency, Timing optimization and Power analysis. • Lead methodology training across the global organization. • Collaborate with cross functional teams between Architecture, Product planning, Silicon Design, Software and Product Engineering to drive PPA innovations in FPGA Products. • Collaborate and lead design and Software modeling of FPGA Fabric circuits. • Collaborate with Design and Product Engineering teams on characterization of FPGA Silicon • Drive modularization in Physical design to improve productivity by adopting latest industry standard tools. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: • Experience in FPGA design and FPGA Software tools and flows. • Proven track record of driving cross functional teams across geographies. • Expert in industry standard circuit and physical design tools and methodologies. • Deep understanding of FPGA architectures, HW and SW technologies, and Customer use case • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering LOCATION: San Jose, CA
