THE ROLE: 

Join the GPU Technologies and Engineering (G&E) group as a key member of the Physical Design team. You will collaborate closely with architecture, IP design, front-end design/integration, and product engineering teams to ensure first-pass silicon success for cutting-edge GPU designs.

 

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate is highly accurate, detail-oriented, and possesses strong communication and problem-solving skills. You will work alongside senior silicon design engineers, contributing technical expertise and leadership.

 

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Apply deep physical design knowledge to large, complex, leading-edge chip designs, ensuring high-quality, on-time delivery.
  • Lead full-chip floorplanning activities, including chip architecture understanding, handling complex partitions, TSV integration, and advanced process node constraints.
  • Take technical ownership of various Physical Design aspects such as chip-level floorplanning, bus and pin planning, repeaters, and feedthroughs.
  • Coordinate closely with STA, EMIR, and Physical Verification teams to implement floorplan changes effectively.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship within the Physical Design team, fostering positive team morale and culture.
  • Drive flow development and scripting initiatives to optimize design processes.
  • Utilize strong analytical and problem-solving skills to overcome design challenges.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • ASIC Physical Design experience, preferably in the latest process nodes.

  • Proficiency with CAD tools from Synopsys, Cadence, and Mentor Graphics.

  • Self-starter mindset with the ability to independently manage and complete challenging, time-sensitive tasks.

  • Strong understanding of full-chip floorplanning, partitioning, TSV, and advanced process rules.

  • Experience in place & route, timing analysis, clock tree synthesis, physical verification, and chip integration.

  • Skilled in scripting languages such as TCL, Perl, and Python.

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
