THE ROLE:

Lead the ATE Final Test equipment engineering team in delivering deep technical expertise and timely resolution of equipment-related engineering issues before, during, and after new product and equipment introductions. Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, external developers, and OEM partners to identify opportunities, define solutions, maximize overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), and drive continuous improvement. This role is critical to ensuring 100% on-time readiness for test capacity bring-up, product testing, yield development, characterization, quality sample commitments, and qualification execution in alignment with the POR plan for all NPI programs.

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated and collaborative engineering leader with strong technical depth, sound judgment, and the ability to drive results in a fast-paced NPI environment. This person communicates effectively across engineering, operations, external development, and OEM teams; applies analytical thinking to solve complex equipment challenges; and leads experienced engineers with clarity, accountability, and a continuous improvement mindset.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead, coach, and develop the ATE Final Test equipment engineering team to deliver timely technical support, issue resolution, and equipment readiness for NPI programs.
  • Drive equipment readiness before, during, and after new product and equipment introductions within the R&D environment.
  • Oversee equipment capacity planning, analyze demand and supply plans, support installation and commissioning, plan equipment conversions, develop maintenance strategies, and troubleshoot equipment-related test issues.
  • Partner with local and global internal stakeholders, including hardware developers and product engineers, as well as external developers and OEM suppliers, to identify technical gaps, define solutions, and execute improvement plans aligned with POR schedules.
  • Maximize overall equipment effectiveness by improving equipment performance, availability, utilization, reliability, and maintainability across the Final Test environment.
  • Establish structured troubleshooting, escalation, and continuous improvement processes to reduce downtime, prevent recurring issues, and improve engineering execution efficiency.
  • Communicate status, risks, mitigation plans, and progress updates clearly to cross-functional stakeholders and leadership.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Demonstrated experience leading ATE tester and handler equipment engineering, manufacturing engineering, or maintenance teams in a semiconductor test environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of ATE Final Test platforms, test handlers, equipment integration, debug, qualification, preventive maintenance, and production support processes.
  • Experience in Advantest Testers (or equivalent), Cohu Handlers and Hontech Handlers will be an added advantage.
  • Proven ability to support NPI execution, capacity ramp, equipment bring-up and maintenance in a high-performance engineering environment.
  • Experience working with global internal team, procurement, OEM suppliers, external development partners, and cross-functional engineering teams to resolve complex equipment and process issues.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with a track record of measurable improvements in OEE, readiness, and operational execution.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science, Computer Engineering related discipline.
