THE Role:
AMD system debug engineer team works with different functional teams (Firmware, Silicon, Board Design, SW, etc.) to enable AMD latest APU/CPU features and root cause the silicon/system issues. You will touch cutting edge silicon, FW, and hardware technologies. You will have chances to see how they will be implemented in our product.
THE PERSON:
We are looking for a system debug engineering lead who has both people management experience and technical leadership in systems design area.
A quick learner for new technologies. Excellent communication skill (both verbal and written). Key performance skills include decision making, problem solving, teamwork and leadership.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the system debug team growth in both technical and leadership skills, work closely with IP design, FW, and SW teams to develop team capability on each IP/Domain
- Manage and lead the system debug engineering team for new silicon IP level bring up, feature enablement, optimization, verification/stress test and issue debug.
- Drive process optimization for the program execution, work together with other teams to make program execution more efficient and with high quality.
- Lead and collaborate with silicon design, FW, SW, and other function teams to make sure issues are analyzed in time.
- Learn latest AMD silicon and system features; understand new features in silicon, BIOS, firmware, SW etc.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Strong debugging experience of issues from hardware, firmware, software, and OS.
- Solid understanding of X86 Architecture, Operating System, Driver, BIOS and FW fundamentals.
- 15+ year experience in the industry
- 5+ year people management experience in the industry
- Exceptional English and Chinese verbal and written skills are must
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- BS-EE / BS-CE with 10+ years directly related experience. An advanced degree will be a plus.
