THE ROLE:

The Data Center Platform Engineering Group (DPEG) supports the physical foundation of AMD's data center operations, ensuring that the right hardware and materials are available, tracked, and compliant to enable large-scale platform deployment and ongoing operations.

As a Material Asset Management Specialist, you will play a critical on-site role in managing the full lifecycle of data center hardware and materials. This includes receiving and tracking assets, maintaining accurate system records, supporting deployment schedules, and ensuring audit readiness at all times. You'll work closely with engineering, operations, suppliers, and logistics partners to keep inventory flowing smoothly and data centers running efficiently.

This role offers hands-on exposure to complex data center environments, enterprise inventory systems, and cross-functional collaboration, making it ideal for someone who enjoys operational ownership, problem-solving, and being a trusted partner to technical teams.

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and proactive, with a strong sense of ownership over physical assets and documentation. You thrive in fast-paced, on-site environments and are comfortable coordinating across multiple teams and external partners.

You communicate clearly, anticipate risks, and take pride in maintaining clean systems, accurate records, and audit-ready processes. You're adaptable, solution-focused, and able to balance day-to-day execution with longer-term process improvement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish and maintain a clear, scalable system for tracking hardware inventory and asset disposition
  • Manage shipping, receiving, storage, and documentation of data center assets
  • Partner with engineering, operations, and suppliers to align material delivery with project and deployment schedules
  • Provide KPI reporting on production, delivery, and inventory status to internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure inventory records are audit-ready with fast, accurate lookup and documentation
  • Apply problem-solving skills across operational, technical, and cross-functional scenarios

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Inventory control, asset management, or materials coordination in technical or data center environments
  • Experience with BOMs, ERP systems, MRP, purchase orders, and inventory management tools
  • Shipping and receiving operations, including handling regulated or hazardous materials
  • Supporting inventory audits and compliance documentation
  • Vendor and supplier coordination, including negotiation and delivery tracking
  • Familiarity with DOT and DoD regulations is a plus

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field OR
  • Relevant certifications or training in inventory management, logistics, or compliance

LOCATION

  • Rockdale, Texas (On-site — Data Center location)
