NBIO Firmware Lead

THE ROLE: 
We are looking for an experienced and passionate firmware engineer to join the NBIO team and particpate in all aspects of HW/FW co-developnent for IP sub-systems.  As part of the role, the candidate will work closely with firmware, IP and verification engineers to design, implement & verify embedded firmware sub-systems in pre-silicon and post-silicon environments across multiple SOC programs. Projects focus around PCIe and related technologies for I/O virtualization, shared virtual memory, I/O security, storage, management & accelerators. 

THE PERSON: 
You are passionate about high quality firmware development with creative and effective problem-solving skills, have an attention to detail, are a motivated, self-starter who can work both independently and collaboratively in fast paced environments. You have excellent technical communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead local FW team and scale the team over time to support future roadmap requirements
  • Participate in day-to-day FW development and co-verification efforts
  • Drive FW development best practices 
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers
  • Cross-site & cross-function coordination with other NBIO teams

 
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Extensive experience with microcontrollers & embedded C/assembly programming
  • Experience with low level HW/FW interfaces and optimizing for performance
  • Familiarity with multi-core firmware design and techniques
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum FW development methodologies
  • Experience with hardware abstraction layers and building shared code bases
  • Experience with pre-silicon FW development environments including emulation, RTL simulation and modeling platforms
  • Familiarity with PCIe, CXL, UCIe and related protocols
  • 10+ years of related firmware experience
  • Established leadership skills are a strong plus

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
