Program Manager 1

THE ROLE:

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Program Manager (TPM) to lead Training at Scale Programs for AMD Instinct products. In this role, you will drive end-to-end execution of large-scale AI training initiatives, ensuring seamless integration across complex systems and cross-functional engineering teams. Your work will directly influence the performance and adoption of AMD's accelerated compute solutions across cutting-edge AI workloads.

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate is a structured, detail-oriented problem solver with strong technical depth in AI model training frameworks and distributed training at scale. You excel at program leadership, communication, and risk management, and you thrive in a highly dynamic environment. You embrace an Agile mindset, adapt quickly to change, and inspire teams to deliver high-quality results on schedule.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead end-to-end technical programs for Training at Scale on AMD Instinct products, from planning and scoping through release.
  • Own the Training Docker Release lifecycle: roadmap definition, planning, cross-functional coordination, integration readiness, and continuous process improvement.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive program plans including goals, schedules, milestones, dependencies, incremental deliverables, and quality metrics.
  • Drive stakeholder alignment across engineering teams and leadership teams.
  • Manage resource prioritization and ensure cross-functional teams are aligned to program objectives and critical path items.
  • Conduct regular program reviews, providing transparent communication of status, risks, mitigation strategies, blockers, and decision needs to leaders and technical stakeholders.
  • Ensure programs deliver customer value through early validation, clear requirements, and continuous engagement with internal and external customers.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Deep understanding of AMD ROCm software stack and hands-on experience with AI training frameworks.
  • Proven success in technical program management, spanning initiation, planning, release execution, and closure.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex cross-functional engineering efforts in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.
  • Strong experience engaging with customers or partners to understand requirements, shape deliverables, and ensure customer success.
  • Experience with NPI (New Product Introduction) processes in the GPU or accelerated compute industry is a strong plus.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering is desired
