THE ROLE: 

The Sr. Specialist Commercial Channel Marketing for Japan will be a member of the APJ commercial and channel marketing team, reporting to the Japan Marketing Lead.

 

This role will be primarily responsible COMMERCIAL CHANNEL EXPANSION & LEAD GENERATION IN JAPAN through planning, designing, executing and reporting channel engagement & enablement, demand generation activities jointly with partners, system integrators, distributors and VARs around commercial related offerings spanning through data center server CPU & GPU to commercial client CPU, NPU & GPU and associated vertical solutions.

 

The incumbent will have to manage associated budget expenses and provide data analysis on marketing activity performance not just from marketing metrics but also on sales metrics such as influenced pipeline and sales conversion through closely working with AMD stakeholders, agency, commercial channel and partners.


THE PERSON:

  • Lead planning and discussions on effective channel communication, engagement and enablement to streamline, visualize, track and improve channel return on investment
  • Lead communication and discussion with partners (setting up cadence, keep track of discussions action items)
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Track partner-influenced revenue, optimize MDF investments, and improve visibility into the sales funnel.
  • Ability to manage budgets and vendors
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills in Japanese (not just business/casual but also to cover creative as well as artistic context necessary for marketing) with strong command on English (business & conversational)
  • A high performer with a positive attitude who is team-oriented, energetic, and optimistic
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time to channel and partner meeting and activity

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Planning, developing and managing the execution and reporting of the go-to-market (GTM) plan through channel and/or partners for AMD's server CPU & GPU as well as commercial client CPU, NPU & GPU in Japan and drive highly focused ROI (sell-through and sell-out) driven demand gen initiatives around the products as well as associated vertical solutions
  • Working with AMD's internal commercial channel GTM and Sales organization on the development of regional specific messaging and collateral for the B2B2B communication with channel sales/SE, ITDM and executives
  • Work with the Japan Marketing Lead to oversee end-to-end commercial channel marketing campaign execution to ensure coherence with AMD/partner brand guidelines and overarching regional strategy and guideline.
  • Collaboration with other organizations across AMD at both a corporate and regional level on product announcements, GTM plans, channel excitement and joint activities with partners
  • Define and manage regional lead generation, social and digital campaigns jointly with channel (systems integrator, distributors and resellers) as well as partner (OEM vendors, alliance partners and so on)
  • Plan and execute channel related events/workshop (both partner-led and AMD-led) and executive forum in Japan
  • Manage agency on new campaign and marketing activities – compliance AMD marketing guideline, standard operation procedure and drive agency to deliver excellent work on time
  • Support Japan marketing lead with the commercial channel MDF planning, budgeting and execution in working with segment marketing persons in charge (server and commercial client)
  • Localized commercial channel content support as the bridge between AMD HQ, regional and Japan to work with marketing lead and sales team to drive translation proofread and transcreation, including AMD.com, WW campaigns, AMD partners enablement tool
  • Work with marketing operations team to support all commercial channel MDF budget questions and enquiries on agency marketing claims. Follow up with customers on questions and requirements
  • Support AMD Partner Program and engagement: Establish tiered support models, loyalty programs, and quarterly business reviews for better partner alignment.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Profound understanding of the Japan IT commercial channel landscape (major players, business models, market dynamics and fundamental challenges)
  • Experience in social media and digital marketing
  • Demonstrated success in marketing planning, field marketing, event management, customer testimonial and project/ campaign management
  • Experience in working closely with sales and account teams to develop collaborative marketing plans
  • Excellent organization and project management skills with an ability to prioritize on their own, and delegate tasks when appropriate
  • Proven ability to work in a demanding, fast paced environment and manage multiple programs at one time

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelor's degree or similar or 3+ years' experience in a commercial channel marketing role, preferably in the computing industry, at the OEM, ODM, or technology provider level
