THE ROLE: 

AMD is looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer with deep expertise in GPU rendering to join our Game Engineering team. In this role, you'll work at the intersection of cutting-edge hardware and world-class game development, helping our partners ship the most visually stunning and high-performance games in the industry.

 

You'll collaborate directly with AAA game studios and AMD hardware architects to unlock new levels of graphics fidelity, performance, and efficiency on Radeon GPUs and AMD APUs.

 

THE PERSON: 

The ideal candidate is a highly skilled software designer and engineer, strong in 3D math, fluent in C and C++ and the efficient use of discrete GPUs, APUs, and CPUs. Able to communicate effectively and work optimally with different teams across AMD.  

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Collaborate with external game developers and publishers to optimize their engines and titles for AMD hardware (GPUs, APUs, CPUs).
  • Contribute to next-gen GPU design by providing feedback and collaborating with AMD architecture teams.
  • Diagnose and optimize performance using profiling tools, shader tuning, and low-level analysis.
  • Prototype and implement rendering techniques that push visual boundaries and hardware efficiency.
  • Support hardware bring-up and validation for new graphics ASICs.
  • Lead technical discussions with both internal teams and external partners, acting as a subject-matter expert in rendering and GPU performance.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Prior experience working directly with game engines or AAA game titles.
  • Familiarity with GPU driver architecture and command submission.
  • Experience contributing to hardware bring-up or low-level system validation.
  • Passion for gaming and a desire to influence the future of real-time graphics.

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
