THE ROLE:
AMD's server software and solutions engineering team is seeking a senior engineer to lead the enablement and optimization of Nutanix software stacks (AOS/AHV, AOS/ESXi) on next-generation AMD EPYC server platforms. This role requires deep expertise in x86 architecture, virtualization, and hyper-converged infrastructure. You will also work with leading OEM engineering teams to enable Nutanix appliances based on OEM AMD servers; this will involve end to end engineering debug and resolution of any functional issues and performance analysis and tuning. This position is based in Santa Clara.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- A self-starter Linux engineer who feels comfortable digging into source code to gain deep understanding of unfamiliar software
- Experience in deploying and administrating Nutanix AOS clusters using AHV as hypervisor
- Deep understanding in Linux virtualization and comfortable in debugging libvirt, qemu and KVM
- Knowledgeable of vhost-user protocol
- Familiar with performance analysis on Linux operating systems
- Knowledgeable on x86_64 architecture
- Experience in C and Python and x86_64 assembly programming languages
- Experience in VMware ESXi hypervisor will be a plus
- Nutanix or VMware software engineer
- Lead Engineer with related work experience
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related equivalent
