THE ROLE
This is a Senior Manager and Program Manager position within the Client Product Engineering Team. The role involves defining and managing key product deliverables and schedules, while driving cross-functional activities. Responsibilities include pre-silicon planning and, once silicon is available, leading efforts in product performance, testing, customer sample execution, and readiness for high-volume manufacturing. A key aspect of this role is managing horizontally across multiple functional organizations.
The position requires close collaboration with engineering and operations teams in Asia, extensive interaction within the Product Engineering organization, and coordination with other internal groups including Design, Supply Chain, Quality, Business, and Customer Engineering. The successful candidate will be a collaborative team member committed to meeting deadlines and thriving in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
THE PERSON:
The ideal candidate is an experienced Product Development Engineer who fosters a culture of problem-solving and continuous improvement. They bring a strong technical understanding of silicon performance and/or testing, demonstrate leadership and innovation, and are comfortable working with geographically distributed teams.
This individual is passionate about product engineering and willing to engage with technical areas beyond their core expertise to help the team overcome challenges. Strong communication skills are essential, with the ability to effectively engage diverse audiences—from executives to early-career professionals. The candidate should be adaptable, quick to learn, and responsive to evolving business and customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead pre-silicon planning and influence decisions related to product power and performance.
- Drive critical post-silicon testing methodologies and implementation strategies.
- Communicate product lifecycle status to management and executive stakeholders.
- Conduct management reviews to assess progress toward objectives.
- Define and oversee key product deliverables and schedules, coordinating cross-functional activities.
- Manage customer sample execution and high-volume manufacturing readiness.
- Collaborate with internal teams including Design, Supply Chain, Quality, Business, and Customer Engineering.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships across departments.
- Lead or contribute to specific projects or components of larger initiatives.
- Plan and execute early silicon bring-up, characterization, product definition, test solution development (Sort/ATE/SLT hardware and test programs), and production ramp.
- Interface with executive leadership, business units, validation teams, supply chain, external manufacturing vendors, and customers to deliver comprehensive microprocessor solutions.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience bringing ASICs, GPUs, or CPUs to production.
- Proven success in semiconductor product development across functions in the US and APAC (Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering).
- Technical project and product management expertise.
- Experience presenting to Director-level or higher audiences.
- Background in Solid State Physics, Computer Architecture, Digital or Analog Design.
- Debugging experience in hardware, software, device, and/or manufacturing domains.
- Training or certification in project management (PMI, LSS, AGILE, ISO 9000).
- Familiarity with XP, AGILE, Scrum, or Kanban methodologies.
Academic Credentials:
- B.S. or M.S. Engineering Degree or related experience.
