THE ROLE:
As a member of the AMD Group, you will help bring to life cutting-edge silicon. As part of the analog/mixed-signal physical design team lead, you will own the custom layout implementation of critical analog and mixed-signal IPs. You will work directly with circuit designers to deliver high‑quality layout for analog, mixed‑signal, and custom blocks used in AMD FPGA products. This role requires strong technical depth, meticulous execution, and the ability to independently handle complex AMS layout tasks. THE PERSON:You bring deep technical expertise in std cell, analog and mixed-signal layout, especially in advanced technology nodes. You communicate effectively with circuit designers, understand design intent, and consistently deliver robust and manufacturable layout. You have strong ownership, attention to detail, and a commitment to layout quality.
KEY RESPONSIBLITIES:
Own full-custom analog/mixed-signal layout for blocks
Perform aggressive layout optimization to meet specs and PPA targets
Work directly with circuit designers to understand schematics, constraints, and performance targets.
Conduct post‑layout extraction reviews and support performance optimization.
Ensure compliance with IR, EM, reliability, and manufacturability requirements.
Provide accurate work estimation and regular progress updates.
Contribute to layout methodology improvements and flow enhancements.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- 13+ years of hands-on custom analog/mixed-signal layout experience in CMOS (7nm or below preferred).
- Strong expertise in aggressive layout optimization
- Proven track record delivering complex AMS layout
- Strong experience with physical verification (LVS, DRC, ERC, ANT, ESD).
- Proficient in Cadence Virtuoso; scripting skills (SKILL, Python, Perl, Tcl) are a plus.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with circuit designers.
- High attention to detail, strong ownership, and the ability to work independently.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in computer engineering/Electrical Engineering.
