THE ROLE:

This Senior-level deputy node owner role supports a technology node owner within AMD's Foundry Technology Operations organization and is based in Austin, TX. The position is an individual contributor role focused on technology development, readiness assessment, and design enablement from early definition through high‑volume product ramp.

In addition to supporting foundry technology definition, this role carries an expanded responsibility: driving technology capability beyond standard foundry offerings. This includes exploring and influencing extensions, optimizations, and custom process options that enable AMD to differentiate its product roadmap.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Define, influence, and drive foundry partner technologies to support AMD's product roadmap through DTCO, including pushing technology performance, reliability, and capability beyond baseline foundry nodes.
  • Perform early technology definition, in‑depth data analysis, and manufacturing readiness assessments. Monitor and report on technology maturity and ensure alignment with AMD product PPAYQ (Performance/Power/Area/Yield/Quality) targets.
  • Lead and advocate for technology pathfinding and custom enhancement initiatives that exceed foundry standard options—driving novel device/process features, design‑technology co‑optimization opportunities, and PDK enhancements needed for competitive differentiation.
  • Collaborate with internal design, reliability, packaging, and product engineering teams to ensure the technology meets all product requirements and is tuned to AMD‑specific architectural, performance, and manufacturability needs.
  • Apply deep knowledge of semiconductor device physics, advanced logic technologies (FinFET or newer), and new product introduction for advanced technology nodes.
  • Utilize strong understanding of IC design, model‑hardware correlation factors, and PDK components such as design rule manuals and SPICE models.
  • Leverage familiarity with technology and product reliability, CPI (Chip‑Package Interaction), SPC/process control, and SRAM/analog design to identify and enable technology differentiation opportunities.
  • Communicate effectively across organizations and manage complex, cross‑functional projects involving internal and external partners.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: .

  • Demonstrated ability to work across organizational boundaries and drive technology strategy.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

MS or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with semiconductor industry experience
