THE ROLE:
Join the AMD I/O IP team and contribute to the design of host controller IP for next-generation high-speed I/O technologies with speeds up to 40 Gb/s. You will help AMD maintain its leadership position in high-speed I/O technology.
THE PERSON:
A successful candidate will work in an IP design team. The candidate will be highly accurate and detail-oriented, possessing good communication and problem-solving skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in the design and development of host controller IP based on next-generation I/O architecture requirements.
- Develop RTL code for IP blocks using Verilog HDL.
- Ensure the design is functionally correct and reusable across different product lines.
- Solve complex technical problems and provide effective solutions.
- Make technical decisions and contribute to design improvements.
- Coach and mentor junior engineers.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Good knowledge of USB 3, USB4, or Thunderbolt.
- Knowledge of PCIe or AMBA is a plus.
- Strong experience in Verilog RTL design for large digital IPs.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Strong planning and scheduling skills, with a proven ability to meet project milestones.
- Ability to solve complex, new, and challenging technical problems.
- AI-assisted design experience is a plus.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 9 years of experience with a Master's degree, or 11 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree.
