THE ROLE:  

Critical technical lead role leading cross-functional engineering team responsible for ensuring customer platform spec meets AMD requirements prior to project kickoff and identify program risk and develop mitigation and contingency plan to ensure smooth program execution.
Owns overall debug & resolution strategy, coordinate deep debug of issues, develop debug feature emulation test plan and execution, works directly with FET leads and members for resolving issues.

 

THE PERSON:  

We are looking for a dynamic, upbeat technical lead to join our growing team passionate about delivering leading-edge technology.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  1. Lead system architecture/solution strategy from pre-silicon through customer adoption working across architecture, silicon design, firmware, validation, and debug teams
  2. Working directly with our customers to ensure their system solutions meet industry best requirements
  3. Drive debug and resolution of system issues across silicon, firmware/ BIOS/ HW/ protocol, and coordinating with functional partners as needed
  4. Develops regular status representing the CE technical team in program meetings providing status to program and senior management
  5. Provide issue risk assessments and mitigation plans
  6. Take lead in providing technical explanations for critical issues
  7. Help Customers to resolve system related problem. Urgent/Gating, Gray area (Software/Driver/BIOS/ASIC serious), platform specific cand Silicon/Protocol level issues debug
  8. On-site support customer to resolve issues

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:  

  1. Engineering management and technical leadership experience
  2. Good written and oral communication skills, with the ability to connect with a variety of engineering fields and management
  3. Good understanding of the technologies, capabilities and challenges involved
  4. Expertise in firmware, software, and not just hardware
  5. Systems breadth - CPU, chipset, boards, options, peripherals, OS, BIOS, drivers; Sufficient exposure to system features
  6. Be expert on SATA/PCI-E/USB/Memory protocol and be familiar with using Protocol Analyzer
  7. Familiar with: general Computer Architecture concepts and silicon features; Microsoft Operating Systems, Linux Operating Systems, and validation/certification processes for each of these environments; system component compatibility; high performance client IO adapters, drivers; stress testing

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:  

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in electrical or computer engineering
