THE ROLE:

Software development engineer on teams building and optimizing key AI libraries for AMD GPU compute platforms.

 

THE PERSON:

In this role you will be developing in the key library for AI workloads. You are someone that has insight into performance optimizations with strong analytical and problem-solving skills or has a strong software development skillset

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, implement, optimize, profiling and analyze AI operations on AMD GPU
  • Deliver high-quality code with open-source software
  • Work with key technical specialists across AMD and with our partners and customers to improve libraries

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Excellent C/C++ programming and software design skills such as software architecture design, performance analysis, debugging and test design
  • Knowledge of GPU computing (CUDA, HIP, OpenCL) or parallel programming is a plus
  • Having low-level optimization techniques, such as assembly programming experience is a plus
  • Understanding of GPU, DSP, or any of AI accelerators is a plus
  • Understanding of AI operations is a plus

 

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Master's or PhD or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field

 

JOB2:

THE ROLE: 

We are seeking Software Architect with deep C++ and Python expertise to drive the architectural design and implementation of high‑performance ROCm libraries. You will lead cross‑functional design, define interfaces, and shape roadmap decisions for library components that power AI and HPC workloads on AMD GPUs.  

 

THE PERSON: 

The ideal candidate should be passionate about software engineering and possess leadership skills to drive sophisticated issues to resolution. Able to communicate effectively and work optimally with different teams across AMD.  

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Define and maintain architecture for ROCm library components ensuring scalability, maintainability, and high performance.
  • Design and review C++ and Python APIs, internal module boundaries, and extension points for front‑end/back‑end integration.
  • Drive SW/HW co‑design: translate hardware characteristics and constraints into software designs and optimization strategies.
  • Produce high‑quality design documents, implementations, CI, testing, performance benchamrking
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers to prioritize features and resolve cross‑team dependencies.
  • Evaluate and recommend tools, frameworks, and third‑party libraries; support porting to new architectures.
  • Participate in code reviews, debugging/fix existing issues and research alternative, more efficient ways to accomplish the same work 

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years professional experience in C++ software development and architecture design;
  • Strong Python experience for tooling, testing, and automation.
  • Proven track record designing large, production software systems and APIs.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to explain technical tradeoffs to engineers and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of performance‑oriented software design: concurrency, memory hierarchy, low‑level optimization, and microarchitectural behavior.
  • Experience with GPU programming models and ecosystems (ROCm, HIP, CUDA, or equivalent).
  • Experience with software development processes and tools such as debuggers, source code control systems (GitHub) and profilers is a plus
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
