SOFTWARE SYSTEM DESIGN ENGINEER 

 

 

THE ROLE:

You will be a part of the team that drives the success of Debug Tools for AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) products through leadership & coordination, software development, and achievement of schedule commits. This is a high-visibility and critical role, spanning pre-silicon to bring-up to post-silicon software features/enhancements implementation & support.

 

THE PERSON:

In this position you will be working as a member of a high-performing agile team, which will have you working with everyone from SW architects to interns. If you thrive in fast-paced, technically challenging environments, where you get to work on a variety of different engineering problems, this could be an outstanding opportunity for you.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, development, and support of scan dump and other hardware tools that will be used in Silicon debugging and Customers environment.
  • Collaborate across multiple engineering teams and subject areas spanning DFT, firmware, hardware, and software to resolve issues, improvements, and new developments.
  • Researching and prototyping new software features/solutions.
  • Participate in design reviews, quality improvements and architectural discussions.
  • Engage as a teammate, demonstrate AGILE methodologies, and always ready to seek new challenges.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Must have 8 to 12 years of work experience in multiple Silicon Engineering Projects.
  • Must have strong experience in C++ (Windows/Linux).
  • Understanding of DFT, Verilog, X86 architecture.
  • Very good problem-solving skills, team player, constantly up/cross skill on modern technologies.
  • Experience in .NET Core, Angular, APIs, Database technologies and scripting languages like Python, and JS will be a plus.
  • Experience in developing/supporting Silicon debug software will be a huge plus.

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering or equivalent
