THE ROLE: 

The right engineer will drive the success of software solution deployment in AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) products through leadership & coordination, resolution of technical dependencies, and achievement of schedule commits. This is a high-visibility and widely multi-functional role, spanning spec. discussion, issue analysis to solution implementation & product delivery.

THE PERSON: 

The candidate is expected to exhibit good verbal and written communication skills in both Chinese and English, specialized knowledge plus broad technical knowledge that facilitates integrative thinking, driving execution of quality and timely result, capability  to solve complex, novel and no-recurring problems and decision-making on critical technical areas.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Response for platform driver and software productization
• Work with developers, application engineers, and ODM/OEM to debug and solve issues on customer or AMD platforms
• Genuinely listening to customer needs, and then working with teams for solution delivery
• Debug workshop support
• POC (proof of concept) project support
• Help AMD product delivery on time
• Pull together meetings, set up clear agendas and follow up on action items
• Deliver regular progress updates toward program goals
• Must be a self-starter, and able to independently drive tasks to completion

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

• Excellent knowledge of C, C++ and a scripting language
• Be capable of Windows memory dump analysis
  
• Experience with writing or debugging device driver on MSFT or Linux systems
• Familiar with embedded processor firmware development would be advantageous
• Familiar with software application development would be advantageous
• Good understanding of digital electronics
• Good understanding of computer organization/architecture
• Strong analytical skills and pronounced attention to details
• Excellent verbal communication and written, presentation skills
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical, planning, and technical leadership skills

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering or equivalent
