Senior Architect - Workload-Driven Power and Energy Modeling
THE ROLE:
AMD is seeking a technical leader to define and scale workload-driven power and energy modeling across CPU cores and SoC platforms. This role will connect workload behavior to architecture, design, and implementation decisions, improving early insight and enabling better performance-per-watt tradeoffs. The candidate will partner across Methodology, Cores Architecture, SoC Architecture, and Physical Design to build methods that scale across products.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Define long-term strategy for workload-driven power and energy modeling across CPU and SoC platforms
- Expand modeling across server, agentic, and client workloads, and extend current methods toward energy modeling
- Turn deep expertise in power modeling, analysis, and optimization into AI-first agentic workflows that help deliver the next 5% in perf/W
- Partner across Methodology, Cores Architecture, SoC Architecture, and Physical Design to turn workload insight into practical methods and better product decisions
- Use competitive analysis to find gaps and guide optimization priorities
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Deep expertise in power or energy modeling, architecture, physical design, or related methodology
- Strong understanding of workload and benchmark behavior, with ability to turn insight into design guidance
- Experience building modeling frameworks that inform architecture and implementation tradeoffs
- Proven ability to influence senior technical direction and drive adoption across organizations
