THE ROLE:

We are seeking a BKC Release Manager in our Data Center GPU team to own the end‑to‑end release delivery of complex, system‑level hardware/software configurations across silicon, firmware, software, validation, and manufacturing. This is a hands‑on senior program management role for someone who thrives at the intersection of technical depth, execution rigor, and cross‑organization leadership driving releases that are consumed by large internal teams, manufacturing partners, and external hyperscale customers.  This role carries single‑threaded accountability for release outcomes, but does not require people management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

End‑to‑End Release Ownership

  • Own the full lifecycle of Best Known Configuration (BKC) releases, from integration and release candidate planning through validation, sign‑off, and final delivery
  • Drive release cadence, milestones, and readiness checkpoints across firmware, BIOS, drivers, software stack, validation, and manufacturing teams
  • Ensure release artifacts are complete, traceable, and consumable by downstream users

Technical Decision Leadership

  • Serve as the final integrator and decision owner for release scope, including fix inclusion, deferral, and quality vs schedule tradeoffs
  • Define and enforce entry / exit criteria, release readiness standards, and fix‑version discipline
  • Identify systemic risks (quality gaps, tool limitations, coverage holes) and drive mitigation with clear recommendations

Cross‑Functional Execution

  • Lead cross‑functional release forums and working sessions spanning engineering, program management, validation, and manufacturing
  • Resolve conflicts across teams by clarifying ownership, driving decisions, and enforcing agreed‑upon outcomes
  • Act as the single point of accountability when execution issues arise

Customer & Manufacturing Readiness

  • Ensure BKCs are production‑ready and customer‑consumable, including release notes, documentation, and delivery mechanisms
  • Partner with manufacturing teams to support production transitions, special SKUs, and sustaining releases
  • Coordinate release strategy for high‑visibility customer programs with strict delivery and quality requirements

Operational Excellence

  • Own release plans, schedules, dashboards, status reporting, and executive‑level visibility
  • Continuously improve release processes, tooling, and handoff mechanisms to increase predictability and quality
  • Drive clear communication of release posture, risks, and expectations to stakeholders

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 10+ years of experience in technical program or release management for complex HW/SW systems
  • Proven ownership of cross‑functional, system‑level releases spanning multiple engineering disciplines
  • Strong technical understanding of system integration (firmware, BIOS, drivers, software, validation workflows)
  • Good understanding of requirements management, documentation management, and defect management
  • Demonstrated ability to make and defend difficult scope and priority decisions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with senior technical stakeholders
  • Background in silicon validation, platform bring‑up, firmware, or large‑scale system integration
  • Track record of improving release rigor, predictability, and quality through process and tooling
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast‑moving environments with incomplete information
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence and Excel is an asset

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
  • Formal Project Management education, PMP certified
