AMD together we advance_

THE ROLE

AMD is seeking a highly driven and technically proficient individual to join our team as a Manufacturing and Automation Lead. This hands-on role will focus on high-speed IO (HSIO) test plan development, volume characterization, and yield debug in a high-volume manufacturing (HVM) environment. This individual will lead end-to-end (E2E) data correlation efforts across various test platforms and establish systemic data automation solutions to improve manufacturing yield, debug efficiency, and content quality.

The technical lead will be a key contributor in defining and executing manufacturing strategies, working closely with cross-functional teams including design, validation, firmware, and product engineering. This role demands strong analytical skills, experience in HVM debug, and a passion for solving complex manufacturing issues through data and automation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build, validate, release, and maintain the HSIO manufacturing test plan.
  • Define and execute volume characterization plans across product milestones.
  • Serve as the go-to person in manufacturing yield debug forums; lead initial data analysis and issue triage for HSIO yield excursions.
  • Develop and maintain yield pareto and first-level debug frameworks.
  • Own E2E data correlation across WS (Wafer Sort), FT (Final Test), SLT (System Level Test), EAM, and Rack-level testing.
  • Establish and drive the data automation strategy and tool to enable systemic manufacturing analysis and efficient debug processes.
  • Collaborate with product development and validation teams to ensure debug capability is built into content and test flows.
  • Providing root cause analysis and guidance to internal and customer design teams to help with close issues.
  • A self-starter required and able to deal with a high level of ambiguity.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to improve post-silicon validation test strategy, methodology, and process.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven experience in high-volume manufacturing debug, HSIO test strategy, and yield improvement.
  • Solid background in data analytics and automation tools (e.g., JMP, Python, SQL).
  • Familiarity with test platforms and environments across different stages (WS, FT, SLT, rack-level).
  • Strong problem-solving skills in yield analysis and root cause isolation.
  • Experience driving systemic debug capability through automation and scalable tools.
  • Comfortably working in a cross-functional, global team with multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills, especially in presenting debug findings and yield trends to stakeholders.
  • Experience with manufacturing ramp and PRQ (Production Release Qualification) deliverables is a plus.
  • Familiarity with silicon design and validation concepts is advantageous.
  • Self-organizing and the ability to multitask based on priorities.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Electronics / Computer Science related with 2 years of experience in SoC validation and debug.
