THE ROLE:

We are looking for a Big Data Engineer to support our global delivery of world-class products.  The ideal candidate will have professional experience developing and deploying big data solutions with a strong desire to learn new technologies and to help build better tools in a team environment. The role would encompass both global resource data, modelling, and technical data structures.

THE PERSON:

We're looking for a team player with strong experience delivering analytics and insights from data leveraging Cloud tools and techniques. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in analyzing data to meet business needs and visualizing insights to tell a story and achieve actionable results. This candidate will also have experience creating predictive models. Excellent problem-solving ability dealing with large volumes of data will round out the ideal candidate.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• To own the data sets that drive our operation expenses, talent management
• To create real time analysis with global centralized data and use of modeling for predictive analysis
• To combine planning, actuals, and financial goals in a centralized unified view to impact decision making
• To drive standard practices in data integrity, visualization of standard data sets to allow of decision making and centralized data for deeper analysis, with a review on metrics and Key Productivity Indicators
• Provide Data Perspective expertise in the following areas: ETL, ELT, data warehouses
• Evaluate Business Intelligence Tools and propose/implement solutions for business Processes
• Work closely alongside the BI team in all layers of BI instance – including (but not limited to) data transformations, data modeling, implementation, documentation, monitoring, optimization and troubleshooting
• Maintain strong acumen in data transformation from data warehouse to BI layer to optimize ETL's, data model(s)
• Implement process improvements (Automation, Query and Model optimization)
• Articulate requirements to improve BI infrastructure to IT team and follow through to completion
• Serve as SME (Subject-Matter-Expert) in PowerBI and Business Intelligence
• Curation of data when needed and writing of complex SQL queries, MongoDB aggregation, etc.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Experience with SQL database
• Expertise in modeling different scenarios and simulations
• Demonstrated ability to communicate data insights and model results in business terms and articulate business value
• Demonstrated understanding of typical data science techniques such as classification, regression, and optimization to solve business problems
• Experience developing and deploying scalable Business Intelligence data solutions with Tableau, Looker, Sigma, Power BI or similar BI tool
• Experience with Python, or other modeling tools
• Demonstrated ability working with business users to understand and document their needs
• Experience developing predictive models that address a business-focused outcome
• Excellent communication skills

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics or a related field.
