THE ROLE: 

AMD is looking for a dynamic, self-motivated, experienced platform Hardware Engineer to work closely with internal development teams for AMD's cutting-edge Enterprise products. This individual will interface with the AMD internal hardware development and customer support team to assist and address Server platform design challenges. This includes enabling partners with critical knowledge of AMD technologies and platforms, and review customer platform design to drive the best practices to reduce time-to-revenue, and successfully scale AMD business.

THE PERSON: 

The candidate must be highly motivated, innovative, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. He or she must be able to quickly analyze different customer design scenarios to come up with the best approach to tackle tough problems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work with MDC/OEM/ODM partners to enable successful deployment of AMD AI/DC GPU platforms by augmenting customer solutions with technical collateral including whitepaper, application note, user guide on customization and tuning, reference design materials, and System Architecture.
• Provide support in design recommendation include concept, system-level architecture, schematic, layout for customer platforms and/or reference platforms
• Able to support bring-up, customer co-validation and high level triage of platform related issues
• Engage directly on key technical topics, issues, architecture discussions, design optimizations with customers and internal teams and steer of multi-party discussion to convergence
• Analytic ability to address technical issues and generate creative solutions

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• BS or MS in Electronic Engineering (or relative engineering fields)
• 10 years of electrical validation, system design, hardware development experience in the computing industry, at the OEM, ODM, or technology provider level
• Strong technical skills with extensive hands-on experiences in performing schematics and PCB design, EMI and Signal Integrity analysis, system design optimization.
• Ability to effectively identify and resolve thermal and mechanical challenges is an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge in the following fields: PC/Server/DCGPU architecture, x86 processors, DDR, PCIE, SATA, USB, multiprocessor systems, and power management
• Experience in working with global customers and enabling them to production
• Demonstrated ability to grasp new technical concepts quickly.
• Ability to influence horizontally across multiple internal functional organizations.
• Team player with passion and will to do whatever it takes for business success with a keen sense of urgency and strong drive
• Excellent communication and evangelizing skills with an entrepreneurial spirit to drive team results.
