THE ROLE: 

 

This role is accountable for defining, building, validating, and deploying system level test and burn-in equipment solutions used for functional and reliability testing of AMD's microprocessor and graphics products.

 

THE PERSON: 

 

The right candidate will have solid knowledge of program management, impeccable track record of delivering complex software programs, and experience with Device Drivers, Firmware, Graphics technology, SOC product development and customer facing experience. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Owns delivering validated, production system level test and burn-in equipment solutions for new microprocessor and graphics products that meet on time delivery and first time right goals without compromising product yields and planned capacity
  • Leads and project manages cross-functional, technical teams to meet project goals
  • Oversees equipment schedule, budget, design, ordering, build, validation, and deployment
  • Proactively supports internal customers and external test facilities
  • Collaborates on new system level test and burn-in hardware designs and technology

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Experienced with owning large scale equipment development projects
  • Ability to direct a technical team, lead technical discussions, and project manage execution
  • Experienced with modern computer hardware architecture
  • Experienced with integrating boards, firmware, and software
  • Experienced with lab test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multi-meters
  • Strong communication skills at both technical and executive levels, including the ability to create and discuss technical documentation and presentations
  • Owning and driving to closure issues that impact yield or hardware availability (e.g. Tiger teams)
  • Proficient in creating and maintaining hardware budgets
  • Familiar in driving material procurement and coordinating with vendors on key deliverables
  • Proficient in creating and maintaining hardware development and deployment schedules
  • Proficient in running meetings, including capturing minutes and actions with follow up
  • Proficient with Microsoft standard products: Windows Operating Systems and Office applications

PREFERRED SKILLS: 

  • Familiar with system level test hardware (microprocessor, graphics, or other)
  • Familiar with burn-in test hardware (microprocessor, graphics, or other)
  • Experienced with working with global teams

 

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • Position requires a technology related Bachelor's and/or Master's degree
  • Position requires experience in test and/or product engineering
  • PMP Certification preferred, but not required.
