System PnP Engineer – OS-Level Performance Optimization:

Job Title: System PnP Engineer – OS-Level Performance Optimization 

Location: Bengaluru, India

Job Overview:

We are seeking a hands-on System PnP Engineer with a strong background in benchmark execution, profiling, bottleneck analysis, and performance optimization on embedded Linux and Android platforms. You will work closely with silicon and software architects to drive peak system performance on AMD's next-gen x86 SoCs across diverse real-world workloads.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute industry-standard and custom benchmarks on embedded Linux, Android, Ubuntu, and Yocto-based systems
• Perform end-to-end profiling across user-space, kernel-space, and hardware layers to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks
• Drive system-level performance tuning including scheduler behavior, memory usage, CPU affinity, thermal/power throttling, etc.
• Collaborate with SoC architects, firmware, and BSP teams to co-optimize performance across software and hardware
• Contribute to system characterization reports and provide optimization guidance to customer and field teams 

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Linux performance tools (e.g., perf, ftrace, top, htop, vmstat, latencytop, sysstat, etc.)
• Expertise in Android/Linux internals, scheduler behavior, thermal/power frameworks, and system services
• Deep experience profiling and optimizing on Yocto, Android, Ubuntu, or embedded Linux environments
• Proficiency in C, Python, or Bash for automation and profiling workflows
• Exposure to ARM/x86 architecture, though x86 is preferred
• Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills at both OS and application layers

Preferred Qualifications

• Contributions to open-source performance or power tools
• Knowledge of performance tuning in real-time or resource-constrained systems
• Familiarity with firmware-level interactions (e.g., ACPI, device tree, UEFI)
