THE ROLE: 

We are building first class technologies for C++, HIP, Fortran, OpenMP, and OpenCL executing on AMD GPU. The successful candidate will work on tooling technologies, including binary instrumentation, leveraging the open source LLVM framework. In addition to AI/ML apps, libraries, and frameworks, our tooling/compilers are used in the development of HPC applications. The successful candidate will have a phenomenal opportunity to work closely with AMD first class software and hardware engineers to develop tooling technologies for the AMD GPU.

 

THE PERSON: 

The ideal candidate should be passionate about software engineering and possess leadership skills to drive sophisticated issues to resolution. Able to communicate effectively and work optimally with different teams across AMD.  

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Work with AMD's architecture specialists to improve future products 
  • Apply a data minded approach to target optimization efforts 
  • Stay informed of software and hardware trends and innovations, especially pertaining to algorithms and architecture 
  • Design and develop new groundbreaking AMD technologies 
  • Participating in new ASIC and hardware bring ups  
  • Debugging/fix existing issues and research alternative, more efficient ways to accomplish the same work 
  • Develop technical relationships with peers and partners 

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Strong background in binary instrumentation and performance analysis tools.
  • Experience with compilers.
  • Strong C/C++ programming skills.
  • Experience with wide variety of aspects of tooling technologies in an parallel programming context.
  • LLVM experience.
  • Parallel Programming Models, Languages and Runtime Systems.
  • Good understanding of GPU execution model and architecture; preferably experience with AMD GPU
  • Confirmed understanding of at least one of the following languages: C++, CUDA, OpenMP, OpenCL.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills 
  • Motivating leader with good interpersonal skills

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
