  • Physician coverage: 24 hours, shift time 7a-7p and 7p-7a
  • APC coverage 18 -24 hours

LEAD ADVANCED PRACTICE CLINICIAN JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Exemplify the highest standards patient care and professional behavior for the Advanced Practice Clinician team.
  • Meet regularly with Medical Director to discuss all clinical and administrative issues.
  • Assist Medical Director with APC Chart Review, patient complaints, and correspondence for quality improvement.
  • Communicate procedure and policy changes to APC team as instructed by the Medical Director.
  • Orientation and onboarding of new APCs.
  • Champion APC driven front end processes and metrics.
  • Monitor staff stability and morale, and report any foreseeable staffing changes or issues to the Medical Director.
  • Participate in the preparation of the monthly APC schedule. The Lead APC is responsible for assisting the Medical Director in securing coverage for all APC shifts and occasionally working open APC shifts when reasonable.
  • Demonstrate consistent hospital citizenship by attending all required departmental staff meetings and any other meetings to facilitate efficient Emergency Department operations. The Lead APC will also be responsible for ensuring the APC team is represented at these meetings as frequently as possible.
  • Participation in educational programs conducted by the Hospital and Medical Staff, as necessary to assure Hospital's overall compliance with accrediting requirements. The Lead APC will also perform other such reasonable teaching functions that the Hospital may request.
