Reporting to the Shop Manager, the Apprentice Millwright will assist in performing repair services, assembly, and maintenance of hydraulic and mechanical components and systems. This role supports the overall business plan and strategic direction of the company while gaining hands-on experience in industrial mechanical repair. The Apprentice Millwright will work alongside experienced journeymen to develop technical skills and industry knowledge in a supportive and safety-focused environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with system troubleshooting in both shop and field settings.
Support gearbox and mechanical system repair under the guidance of senior mechanics and millwrights.
Participate in failure analysis and condition reporting, learning how to diagnose mechanical issues and recommend solutions.
Assist in completing work and test reports according to quality systems and procedures.
Learn to perform repairs to OEM standards and customer requirements.
Support adherence to quoted and specified scopes of work, component supply, and customer expectations.
Assist with painting, cleaning, and other general shop duties as assigned.
Interest in developing strong technical and mechanical skills with hands-on learning.
Willingness to learn hydraulic, mechanical, and industrial gearbox repair techniques.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to communicate and work effectively as part of a team.
Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and desire to grow in the trade.
Ability to follow safety protocols and contribute to a safe work environment.
Enrollment in a Millwright Apprenticeship program or relevant mechanical experience is an asset.
Machining and welding experience are considered a plus.
