Applied Industrial Technologies is an extensive network of industrial distribution facilities located throughout Canada. We are currently seeking and have an immediate opening for a qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of Field Service Technician at our Calgary, AB shop location.
This shop-based position will require travel that is anticipated to be approximately 75% of the time, with overnight stays required dependent on business needs. In this role, you'll use existing and new hands-on skills learned to support our customers. Training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
Work in a safe manner, lead by example and contribute to overall company safety
Work in a team environment to efficiently achieve a high standard of quality and service to Applied' s extensive customer base
Communicate clearly with internal and external customers and team members
Ability to maintain cooperative and productive team relationships
Work with shop administrator before and after jobs to plan and review
Work with leadership to ensure assigned field service vehicles and essential service equipment are properly maintained and utilized.
Field Service Duties as an individual or a team may include:
Mobilize for the job
Travel to customer site
Communicating with customers on jobsite
Complete scope of work
Stay out of town around customers' location for the duration of the job (if required)
Return to shop and Demobilize
Other duties as required
Qualifications:
Experience troubleshooting Hydraulic systems
Journeyman, Apprentice, or similar certified person
Hydraulic benchwork repair experience would be an asset
A knowledge of basic lubrication systems would be an asset
Welding experience/DC wiring experience would be an asset
Proven ability to work in team environment
Ability to adapt to new surroundings and tasks
Work with a common sense approach to the scope of work
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Self-motivated, detail oriented
Ability to read, interpret standards, specifications, and drawings
Ability to prioritize several tasks and complete a variety of work assignments within structured and/or critical deadlines
Service orientated, ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
The ability to effectively communicate technical findings in writing and verbally
