The Department of Economic Security, Division of Benefits and Medical Eligibility is seeking an experienced individual with customer service experience to join our team. This position works under general supervision and will provide administrative and customer service support for the DOTS program. This position will provide support, track, update, and input data into the automated system, and assist in keeping the office organized. Travel to many different locations within the area. This is an in-office position!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers in person and on the telephone
• Provide support to office staff members; screen incoming telephone calls and mail, and route them to the appropriate staff member.
• Obtain preliminary information for screening purposes; update various computer databases; research, copy, scan, fax, log and track information.
•Register and input client applications into the eligibility systems that include but are not limited to Arizona Technical Eligibility Computer System (AZTECS) and Health-E-Arizona Plus.
Knowledge of:
• Customer service and interpersonal communication skills; professionalism when explaining general information, requirements, and processes.
Skill in:
• Office equipment, scanning, faxing, copying, and printing information and documents; proficiency with keyboarding and computer applications for research.
• Exceptional organizational skills to schedule, log and track people and information.
Ability to:
• Screen preliminary data for eligibility determination.
• Telephone etiquette.
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
• One-year experience in a direct contact position working with or providing customer service, answering questions, providing general information, and resolving simple procedural issues.
• Experience using computer software to research, track or prepare information or correspondence.
• Bi-lingual is a plus.
• This position requires driving, the use of a vehicle is an essential function of the job to conduct State business, then the following requirements apply: Driver's License Requirements.
• Successfully pass background and reference checks; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agency's ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.
• All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).

Retirement:State employees are required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS), the State sponsored retirement contribution plan and the Long-Term Disability (LTD) program after a 27-week waiting period. The ASRS defined benefit plan provides for life-long income upon retirement. You will also have the option to participate in a voluntary deferred compensation program to take advantage of tax-deferred retirement investments.
