Role Purpose
As a member of the People Solutions team for MVH, you act as a project manager and configurator for system enhancements and configurations.
You are an expert in people-related processes including job applications, requisitions, recruiting, hiring, onboarding, job changes, timekeeping, compensation changes, and terminations.
You collaborate closely with business leaders and P&O Business Partners to understand business requirements and translate how those requirements are captured within Workday.
Essential Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. within self and team.
- Perform tier 2 and tier 3 support for the Workday platform, solving issues with a predefined SLA in ServiceNow or other work management systems. Confer with business unit stakeholders, People Systems, BU Support & Continuous Improvement, and MVH users to identify problems within the application, replicate them, and troubleshoot for root cause – resolving the issue or escalating as needed.
- Guide Tier 4 AMS system-related process enhancements and bug fixes including conducting surveys and/or focus groups to get assessment of assigned segments processes and needed enhancements, assessing the systems to determine if they are configured in a way that meets business requirements, and documenting/delivering requirements to Tier 4 AMS group
- Collaborate with P&O leaders and P&O Business Partner(s) to determine/prioritize the fixes and enhancements, partnering across Business Solutions team and with People Systems to create roadmap for enhancements and system changes.
- Configure and smoke test enhancements/fixes based on design specifications as discussed with the business. For complex configurations, partner with Systems team to communicate requirements and test configuration set up.
- Coordinate with segment HR to identify additional testers as needed and partner with other Solutions Analysts to continuously identify opportunities to consolidate or standardize processes, approvals, and workflows.
- Maintains technical and industry trend knowledge by participating in Workday Community and other forums, including on-line discussions, brainstorms, voting, training, webinars, etc.

- Support training and communications development and delivery as needed. Work with P&O leaders, P&O Business Partners, and BU Support & Continuous Improvement to determine any additional training and/or communications that are needed. Partner with BU Support & Continuous Improvement to develop and/or adapt training content to ensure applicability and deliver to assigned segment. Support the delivery of training by facilitating classes and/or conducting train-the-trainer sessions with other segment P&O team members
- Support general system enhancements and bug fixes, partner with BU Support & Continuous Improvement and People Systems teams on any testing needed for scheduled system upgrades and participate in the planning and development of future products and projects.
- Other job duties as assigned.
Special Working Conditions:
- Hybrid role, working from Hub location 3x a week.
- Ability to work at a computer for long periods of time.
- Project timelines and work volume/deadlines may often require more than 40 hours per week to complete essential duties of this job.
- Must have mental processes for reasoning, remembering, mathematics and language ability (reading, writing, and speaking the English language) to perform the duties proficiently.
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form and to solve problems involving several variables.
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds.
- Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard and operate necessary equipment.
- The noise level in the work environment is normally moderate.
- Environment where pets are present.
Experience, Education and/or Training:
- Bachelor's Degree is required in Human Resources, Information Service/Technology, Business Administration, or related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in Human Resources including experience with the design, implementation, and support of HR Information Systems.
- 3+ years' Workday system administration/maintenance experience.
- Experience gathering data requirements and documentation with basic understanding of business process mapping.
- Strong understanding of HR practices and procedures as well as an understanding of how those translate into systems. Ability to maintain a high level of integrity and maintain confidentiality internally and externally with HR data.
- Strong computer skills and ability to work at a computer for long periods of time
- Required Ability to build consensus with other team members and stakeholders, and strong communication skills
- Must have mental processes for reasoning, remembering, mathematics and language ability (reading, writing, and speaking the English language) to perform the duties proficiently.
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form and to solve problems involving several variables.
- Preferred: Ability to demonstrate excellent analytical, design, problem-solving, critical thinking, and organization skills.
- Preferred: Ability to clearly translate technical jargon to non-technical audiences, and vice-versa.
