Senior Purchasing Assistant
The Senior Purchasing Assistant will assist with the coordination of activities involved with procuring goods and services. The successful candidate will have a strong command of the company's needs, and be well trained in product knowledge that can be critical for offering quick and accurate assistance to vendors.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain fabric and leather vendor spreadsheets and keep updated
- Enter purchase orders as needed
- Process commercial invoices
- Get open order reports from vendors and update material ETA's in company computer system
- Handle repair frame purchase orders
- Return and credit request paperwork
- Process fabric transfers
- Research invoice discrepancies
- Check weekly for fabric updates and schedule delivery
- Keep vendor customer service contact information updated
- Maintain a high level of professionalism with clients and working to establish a positive rapport with every vendor.
- Work with the management team to stay updated on product knowledge and needs
Qualifications/Skills
- Prior purchasing experience in furniture preferred
- JDE knowledge helpful but not required
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma/GED required (Associate degree in a business related field preferred)
- Ability to remain professional and courteous with vendors at all times
- Ability to communicate effectively with management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
