Position Summary
The XR Lab located in the Connected Learning Division is committed to the application of new virtual reality and simulation technologies as tools for thought, providing students opportunities to augment their learning through immersive, multi-sensory experiences.
Work alongside other XR Lab staff to craft a 5-year business plan for expanding XR Lab growth, and additional writing and process documentation projects, with other duties as assigned. Some of the work can be done remotely but will primarily be working on-site with the XR Lab Coordinator and other XR Lab staff in the XR Lab D126P and XR Studio D276A.
This role is a great match for a student who can describe themselves as self-starter, has experience working as part of the team but with using good judgement skills if only minimal guidance is available, strong ethic and integrity in order to accomplish "best-effort" in times of ambiguous project deliverables, biased for action and can move forward with minimal guidance, willingness and commitment to manage time effectively.
Pay, Benefits & Work SchedulePay rate: $18.68/hour - $24.70/hour
The successful candidate is expected to work 12-15 hours per week. The salary information shown above is a general guideline only. The salary will be determined based on candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, as well as market and business considerations. Typically, new hire starts no higher than$19.00 / hour.
This position typically assigned as needed on a quarterly basis, with no expectation of continued employment beyond the current appointment. Some of this work can be done remotely, the role would require 2 days working on campus working on-site with the XR Lab Coordinator and other XR Lab staff in XR Lab D126P, and XR Studio D276A.
This position is not eligible for overtime.
This position is expected to NOT be eligible for benefits. Student employees are entitled to begin accruing paid sick leave from the start of their employment.

Essential Functions
- Writing and long-term planning synthesis includes understanding routine functions of our XR Lab procedures, and development of tutorial guides and processes.
- The selected individual will work alongside other XR Lab staff to assemble a 5-year business plan for expanding the XR lab growth and may include additional writing and process documentation projects.
At the time of hire, students must:
- Be currently enrolled BC Student including work-study students.
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
- Be in good standing with Student Conduct.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Outlook, Google Documents, and screen-capture, and image manipulation software.
While in the position, students must:
- Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 and not fall below a 2.5 quarterly GPA for more than one consecutive quarter.
- Remain in good standing with Student Conduct.

Current Bellevue College student, not otherwise employed by any other Bellevue College department or program and scheduled for more than 6 hours per week. Bellevue College students are not permitted to work more than 19 hours per week.
