PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION

The primary purpose of the BVMP Specialty Practice Support Coordinator is to provide essential support to our practice team leads and managers, with a strong focus on billing, coding, and charting quality improvement efforts. Works closely with the HIS, Patient Access, Patient Financial Services and Revenue Integrity teams.  This position also represents BVMP Practices at community health fairs.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Duty 1:  Serves as Quadex point person for all Specialty Practices and Women's Health.  This includes pre & post denials. Reports trends to appropriate leaders.

  • Duty 2:  Reviews suspended charges:  No charges on check-out encounters and open note tracking.  Sends first email letter when needed and cc's the appropriate leader.

  • Duty 3:  Collaborates with the Outreach Quality Coordinator regarding gap list work.

  • Duty 4:  Sends power chart messages as needed to providers/staff for outstanding items to complete.

  • Duty 5:  Stays abreast of trending for coding/billing/suspended errors and educates leaders, staff and providers on best practices.

  • Duty 6:  Serves as the KaiNexus coordinator for the primary practices (new idea boards, tracking, follow ups, etc.)

  • Duty 7:  Prints metrics/comments for each practice.

  • Duty 8:  Tracks and submits CME reimbursements for providers and staff

  • Duty 9:  Enters low dose CT registry entries.

  • Duty 10:  Represents the BVMP Primary Practices at community health fairs

  • Duty 11:  Serves as backup for the primary care referral and prior authorization coordinators as needed.

  • Duty 12:  Other projects, tracking, metrics as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School graduate or GED equivalent

  • Typing, Medical Terminology and Microsoft Office skills

  • Experience in data tracking, process development and appointment scheduling

  • Knowledge of revenue cycle workflows and systems used within the Revenue Cycle such as Cerner, Quadax, KaiNexus, etc.

  • Strong problem-solving, research and analytical skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 

  • Must be self-motivated, with the ability to work well under pressure, follow instructions and a willingness to accept responsibility and maintain the knowledge necessary to support a dynamic environment. 

  • Ability to effectively present and interact with all levels of the organization, including senior leadership.

  • Ability to navigate provider documentation, test results, medication administration records, provider orders, etc. to accurately support the appeal process.  

  • Ability to connect with and educate medical practice associates as needed

  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members on projects and tasks.

  • Ability to work flexible hours as the position requires.  This may include occasional evening or weekend afternoon hours on a monthly basis in order to reach patients when they are available.

  • Ability to plan and organize work efficiently while managing multiple assignments simultaneously.

  • A valid driver's license is required (if you do not have a valid Ohio driver's license you must obtain one within 30 days of your residency in the state).  You must also meet BVHS's company fleet policy and insurance company requirements, and any other requirements that may be required to operate a vehicle.

  • Positive service-oriented interpersonal and communication skills required.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate or bachelor's degree

  • Healthcare experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position requires a full range of body motion with intermittent walking, lifting, bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting and standing. The associate will be required to walk for up to one hour a day, sit continuously for six hours a day and stand for one hour a day. The individual must be able to lift twenty to fifty pounds and reach work above the shoulders. The individual must have good eye-hand coordination and fine finger dexterity for simple grasping tasks. The individual must have excellent verbal communication skills to perform daily tasks. The associate must have corrected vision and hearing in the normal range. The individual must be able to operate a motor vehicle for business travel and community involvement.
