Convenience Store Accounting Team Lead

JOB PURPOSE:
The C-Store Accounting Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the Retail Sales Auditor team while also supporting the daily tasks of the retail sales team.
As our new Accounting Team Lead you'll contribute by performing the following:
1. Leadership, motivational and inspirational responsibility for positions assigned to the team. This includes but is not limited to all tasks in the team member life cycle such as staff planning, selection, training, goal setting, career path and succession planning, timekeeping, performance management, continuous development, corrective actions and employment decisions.
2. Plan, implement, operate and continuously improve the Retail Sales Auditing function. This includes, but is not limited to the workflow, process, task assignments and workload monitoring, metrics, quality assurance, process improvement, and reporting team performance. Periodically audit team work to ensure accuracy.
3.Provide written and verbal feedback to Store Managers, District Managers, Security, and other stakeholders regarding actual losses or gains, suspicious activity, and procedure non-conformances.
4.Research and resolve complex issues the team is unable to resolve.
5.Operate, troubleshoot and improve process technology.
6.Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective action to prevent problem recurrence.
7.Communicate and enforce company policy and procedure related to store sales activity.
8.Collaborate with other departments in research, analysis, and/or recommendations. Create efficiencies and streamline processes.
9.Travel occasionally to company locations.
10.Follows company policies and procedures. Completes training within established deadlines.
11.Other duties as assigned.
You should be able to demonstrate the following:
1. High school diploma or equivalent. Associate degree or some college coursework preferred.
2. Two (2) years relevant experience in data reconciliation.
3. Previous demonstrated successful leadership experience, including staff planning, hiring, training, goal setting, career path planning, performance management, continuous development, corrective actions and employment decisions.
Able to inspire and motivate others, provide appropriate recognition, accept feedback, and display professionalism, passion and optimism.
4. Detail oriented and comfortable with numbers with a focus on accuracy and a history of strong initiative and results orientation with a focus on follow-up. Aggressive identifier of root causes and problem resolution options.
5. Demonstrated sound judgement, including both business and common sense. Willing to make hard and timely decisions. Able to support and explain the logic behind every decision.
6. Intermediate to experienced technology competency, including but not limited to common applications such as Microsoft Office business operating platforms.
7. Strong interpersonal communication skills, in both verbal and written form to leadership standards. Able to communicate effectively with a wide variety of constituents, including internal team members, customers and vendors. Focused team player.
8. History of being a motivated and dependable team player. Can set and achieve stretch goals. Able to keep commitments and continue working to achieve goals.
9. Excellent analytical skills, including but not limited to the ability to gather and research complex data, design workflows and procedures, measure and improve a process, identify and collaboratively resolve problems.
10. Valid driver's license with valid, current proof of auto insurance, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel to C-Stores and other locations.
