The Principal Partner Portfolio Manager will lead and expand our mainframe technology partner ecosystem. This role is pivotal in driving joint go-to-market (GTM) success, embedding our SaaS solutions into partner offerings, and aligning cross-functional teams to maximize partner impact. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in presales, mainframe, SaaS platforms, and enterprise technology, with a proven ability to influence at the executive level.
Key Responsibilities:
Executive Relationship Management:
- Own and nurture executive-level relationships with partner MF tools and portfolio owners to drive strategic alignment and joint success.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to embed BMC solutions into partner reference architectures, platforms, and service offerings.
- Discover and develop new use cases that expand BMC's addressable market through innovative partner GTM strategies.
- Lead the creation and ongoing management of Centers of Excellence (CoEs) with strategic partners to drive innovation and enablement.
- Act as the voice of the partner to BMC's Business Units (BUs), providing actionable feedback on partner requirements to inform product development.
- Own and deliver regular updates on technology partnership development to BMC stakeholders, including the Executive Leadership Team (ELT).
- Drive alignment across the BMC ecosystem—including Sales, Pre-sales, SSG, Marketing, Customer Success, Product Marketing, Product Development, and Support—to ensure cohesive partner engagement.
- Lead the execution of BMC's Certification Program within partner technical teams to deepen solution expertise and drive adoption.
- Champion and execute the IZOT (Integrated Zones of Trust) strategy across partner engagements to ensure secure, scalable, and trusted integrations.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in partner management, strategic alliances, or business development in a SaaS or enterprise software environment.
- Proven track record of managing executive relationships and driving joint GTM initiatives.
- Deep understanding of SaaS platforms, cloud ecosystems, and enterprise IT architectures.
- Strong strategic thinking, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working in a matrixed organization with cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.

The range listed is just one component of BMC's employee compensation package. Other rewards may include a variable plan and country specific benefits.
At BMC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at /near the top of the range. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $149,400 - $249,000
