Salary Range: 95k-105k

Job Summary:  

The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing our day-to-day operations, as well as working on process improvement projects. The Operations Manager's responsibilities will include the safe and secure operations of the location, efficient functioning and coordinating logistics, customer service and profitable operations. The incumbent drives the execution of the business and motivates team members to achieve the best results and to drive continuous process improvement. The position will lead and a dedicated team and is responsible for the hiring, developing and leading an effective operation. This positions functions in an armed environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide vision and strategic direction, establishing clear and measurable goals and objectives to ensure successful and profitable management of the operation
  • Ensure that all shipments are handled in an accurate and timely manner, making it to each destination as scheduled and that staff appropriately/properly bag, tag, sort and route shipments
  • Work closely with Operations, Imports and Exports to identify errors and resolve issues in time to make corrections
  • Leverage systems, equipment and process redesign to drive continuous improvement in cost, quality and efficiency
  • Maintain and provide quality customer service
  • Ensure the team has proper documentation, completed and accurately attached to shipments as required by each shipment/airline: MAWB, Label, KP, I.E., etc.
  • Lead and mentor the team; foster open communications, coordination and cooperation within the team; Promote and expand senior level relationships with key customers and within Brink's, Inc.
  • Lead the process integration project to improve the service levels BGS is providing to its customers in the US; cooperate with the different departments (IT, CSR, Branch Managers) in order to make the process more lean and efficient for the company
  • Ensure staff at all levels is properly trained to perform the duties through efficient use of resources, products, and equipment; hold individuals accountable for meeting or failing to meet goals and maintain standards
  • Maintain security, safety and risk management as integrated functions and responsibilities across all business functions with goal of reducing injuries and losses
  • Provide strategic support and conduct reviews of Operational processes at other locations within BGS US so as to ensure consistent messaging and process integration occurs with Brinks Armored and other internal divisions/departments
  • Maintain the highest level of integrity, dignity and standards both on an internal and external basis; maintain high ethical standards and protect the Brink's reputation by delivering high quality
     

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years  management experience
  • A minimum of 2 years managing profit and loss and key performance indicators
  • 21 years of age
  • A valid weapons permit or ability to pass applicable weapons licensing requirements
  • Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule with a wide range of hours including but not limited to weekends and where necessary holidays

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expert knowledge of logistical operations, products, services, policies, and procedures, in addition to a familiarity with the customers and the industries serviced
  • Working knowledge of Lean/Process Improvement
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including but not limited to Excel, Word, PowerPoint and internal Brink's proprietary/commercial business software packages (i.e. BITS, Garcia etc.)
  • Bachelor's Degree in business
