Role Objective

Management and development of TestLink's technical operations in line with market requirements, developing staff and processes to offer best in class services.

Key Duties

Operations

  • Implement the plan to facilitate increased business levels within US business

  • Oversee the effective delivery of high-quality repairs and refurbishments and introduce quality control/improvement policies

  • Control material and labor costs

  • Contribute to sales tender responses, facilitating site visits when required

  • Implement a program of improvements across the OH and MS workshops to increase efficiency and instill best practices

  • Support integration of additional workshops in N & S America to ensure consistency of processes across sites

  • Ensure achievement of KPIs and Targets

  • Ensure continuous improvement to achieve efficiencies and protect and improve profit margins

  • Utilise and manage the internal CHR system via the team to capture and investigate customer complaints/issues, help identify root causes and use that information to develop permanent solutions

  • Efficiently onboard new service offerings or customer contracts

  • Proactively address issues and challenges, implementing corrective actions as necessary.

  • Allocate resources, plan schedules to ensure on-time delivery.

  • Optimise resource utilisation and capacity planning to maximise operational efficiency.

  • Health and Safety, Responsible for all safety matters within your assigned zones: Ensure housekeeping, quality and environmental policies and procedures are adhered to.

  • Represent your function and present updates at Monthly Management Meetings

People

  • Goal Setting – Ensure goals are aligned with the overall organizational objectives.

  • Training and Development – Hold regular one-on-ones with subordinates to ensure professional growth. Maintain a skills matrix. Ensure that training policies covering multi-skilling and cross training are implemented

  • Administrative Tasks – Handle employee onboarding, scheduling, timecard approval and expense reports.

  • Team Organization – Setup the workspace and streamline processes for any efficient team.

  • Leadership – Drive employees to meet their goals, motivate through challenges, and support the team.

  • Communication – Clearly communicate tasks, goals, expectations along with company objectives.

  • Time Management – Prioritize tasks and objectives while maintaining a highly efficient strategy for completion.

  • Reliability – Ensure the team can depend on their leader; be accessible, level-headed and professional.

  • Decisiveness – Act with confidence during the decision-making process.

  • Expertise – Take time to learn the team responsibilities to ensure the ability to step in and assist when required.

  • Contribute to the design of new functions and build teams in line with business growth

Finance

  • Contribute to the creation of accurate cost forecasts and budgets in line with management  requirements

  • Manage designated overheads and control costs

  • Assist with month-end cost allocation

Preferred Experience:

  • Leadership and development of a business function

  • People management

  • Operations, ideally a repair workshop or manufacturing facility

  • Budget Owner

Qualifications/skills

  • 5S and Lean Principles

  • Project and/or change management

  • Business Management Qualification or equivalent in experience

  • Excel, data analysis and reporting
