JOB SUMMARY

Working under the supervision of the Radiology Director and the Staff Radiologist, the Radiology Tech I performs a variety of diagnostic procedures utilizing all aspects of diagnostic equipment. This position is responsible for scheduling and preparation of patient for examination.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Obtains appropriate medical history before patient examination.
  • Prepares patients for their examinations.
  • Performs appropriate diagnostic procedures as ordered.
  • Assists radiologist when performing special procedures and fluoroscopy.
  • Maintains cleanliness of all radiology equipment rooms.
  • Maintains adequate stock of supplies in weekly assigned room.
  • Properly makes exposures to produce imaging of diagnostic quality.
  • Performs appropriate modality procedures per protocols.
  • Performs PACS function and burn CD's.
  • Performs exams per department routine.
  • Ensures that expenditures for job related activities are within budgetary constraints.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all personnel and patient care and relations information.
  • Actively participates in Customer/ Guest Relations and Mandatory Education programs.
  • Review of patient records for information needed for procedures (i.e. labs, previous procedures etc.)
  • Obtains and verifies appropriate physician order.
  • Utilizes HIS and ED computer charting systems to obtain and chart pertinent patient information for transportation and exam purposes.
  • Must be free from governmental sanctions involving health care and/or financial practices.
  • Complies with the hospital's Corporate Compliance Program including, but not limited to, the Code of Conduct, laws and regulations, and hospital policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned. This list is non-exhaustive.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education
    • High school diploma with graduation from a School of Radiology Technology.
  • Licensure
    • Certified/ licensed by the State of Wyoming and ARRT.
  • Experience
    • Experience in Diagnostic X-Ray is preferred.
