As a Classical Principal, you will be a visionary leader responsible for fostering a rigorous, virtue-driven, and technology-enhanced classical learning environment. Your leadership will guide faculty and scholars through a whole-child approach that integrates academic excellence with scholar wellness, community service, and sustainability. How You Will Impact Education

Instruction/Education Responsibilities

  • Educational Leadership: Serve as the primary educational leader, embodying the principles of the Classical Educational Model, including the Trivium (Grammar, Logic, Rhetoric) to ensure a comprehensive, cohesive curriculum.
  • Chief Administrator: Oversee all school operations, ensuring that classical methodologies are implemented effectively and align with CSUSA's standards and vision.
  • Staff Development: Supervise, mentor, and cultivate leadership in faculty, emphasizing classical pedagogy and promoting continuous improvement in teaching practices.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Engage with all stakeholders, fostering a collaborative environment that supports the classical educational approach and community involvement.
  • Visionary Leadership: Shape a vision of success for all scholars within the CSUSA framework, emphasizing the importance of character formation alongside academic achievement.
  • Sustainable Success Planning: Lead the school community in long-term strategic planning, with ongoing monitoring and support to achieve measurable milestones in classical education.
  • Climate for Success: Create a nurturing and supportive school climate conducive to scholar success, exemplifying the virtues central to the classical tradition.
  • Teacher Development: Enhance teacher practice through regular observations, coaching, and feedback focused on the implementation of classical educational principles.
  • Data-Driven Management: Manage people, data, and processes with a clear focus on school improvement, utilizing classical assessment methods to guide instructional strategies.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven ability to lead and inspire teams to achieve results aligned with classical educational values.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to plan long-term (1-2 years) while remaining adaptable to changing needs.
  • Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proficient in problem analysis and resolution at both strategic and functional levels.
  • Experience in budget management and resource allocation with an emphasis on classical program development.
  • Background in employee training and development, particularly within a classical education framework.
  • Strong commitment to customer and scholar orientation, with exceptional communication skills (oral, written, interpersonal).
  • Proven ability to lead high-performance teams while being a collaborative team player.
  • Analytical mindset with a strong track record in identifying patterns and recommending innovative solutions to complex challenges.
  • Broad conceptual perspective on educational issues and their long-term implications, especially in the context of classical education.
  • Proactive, creative thinker who drives projects to completion and insists on the highest standards of quality.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and local requirements for K-12 schools, especially concerning classical education principles.
  JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Master's degree (MA) from an accredited college or university or equivalent.
  • Professional Certification in Educational Leadership for Applicable State.
  • Minimum 2yrs relevant experience (in school administration preferred) and/or training.
  • Experience in student instruction.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a school community toward improved academic achievement.
  • Computer literacy skills; proficient in Windows, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint; Student Information System (SIS).
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Such alternatives to the above requirements as CSUSA may find appropriate and acceptable.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with CSUSA salary and benefit policy. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by Charter Schools USA.
