MANAGER STRATEGIC CHANGE ENABLEMENT
WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY? The purpose of the Strategic Change Enablement Manager is to develop and maintain organizational change management competencies across the enterprise. This role is also responsible for design of change enablement and adoption tools, practices, and skills for a distributed team of Change Owners, project managers, and leaders through creation and management of a Change Enablement Community of Practice across City National Bank (CNB). In partnership with the Manager of Transformation & Culture and the Strategic Change Delivery Manager, the Strategic Change Enablement Manager drives awareness of the organizational change value proposition, assists the Manager of Transformation & Culture with development of strategy, and facilitates implementation of that strategy within an environment of effective controls and risk governance to meet regulatory requirements.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Enterprise Change Enablement Team Leadership and Development
  • Establishes and maintain a high performing team in a highly technical environment with high execution risk due to complexity of project and volume of change.
  • Provides focus and clarity in establishing individual goals, driving performance management, supporting career development, and rewarding strong performance.
  • Surfaces and escalates issues and opportunities from COP and ECEA team and address as directed by Manager of Transformation & Culture
  • Change Enablement & Adoption Community of Practice (COP) Leadership
  • Expand awareness and influence of ECEA and its value proposition to ensure Organizational Change Management becomes a core competency, transformation enabler, and is embedded within the culture of City National Bank through leadership of an effective Community of Practice.
  • Develop and lead an ECEA communications strategy and plan to support adoption of ECEA best practices and effective tool utilization.
  • Serve as an active and visible coach to executives and senior leaders, providing one-on-one coaching, training opportunities and ad hoc advisory upon request.
  • Manage and evolve ECEA practitioner-specific tools and technologies based upon industry best practices and provide a framework for continuous skill improvement.
  • Create and maintain a collaborative community of ECEA Change Consultants, federated change enablement specialists reporting to divisions, and other interested parties to share success stories, best practices, new tools and provide a forum for knowledge sharing and collaborative problem solving
  • Builds strong, collaborative relationships with delivery partners and foster connections between leaders, change enablement and adoption professionals, project managers and other stakeholders to promote efficient and effective use of services and resources.

  • Drives forward the Enterprise Change Enablement & Adoption's goal to enable the organization to consistently apply common change management processes and tools, ensures all colleagues have the individual competency to lead change, and ensures the application of change management is developed as a strategic capability with ECEA embedded in all large-scale programs
  • Serves as an active and visible coach to business partners, to model change leadership behavior, enablement, and integration into City National Bank change transformation delivery in alignment with the Enterprise Change Management Office and Enterprise Change Risk Management Policy
  • Perform review & challenge during the change intake process to ensure appropriate level of confidence in the questions that drive ECEA scoring
  • Develop a quality assurance protocol embedded into the Enterpriser Change Risk Management, and the Enterprise Program Management Office governance processes for ECEA tools
  • Develop and evolve a competency model enabling a sustainable, skills-based ECEA COE
  • Creates and maintains a series of standard change management tools and templates with input from Strategic Change Delivery Manager, Manager of Transformation & Culture, and other key partners throughout the organization.
  • Partner with appropriate Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) colleagues and teams on change enablement and adoption best practices, tools and enablement protocols

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
Required Qualifications*
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • 15+ years of progressive relevant experience leading large change programs with a high level of value (benefit/cost), and very high level of complexity and uncertainty
  • Experience managing a portfolio of large cross-enterprise programs/projects, programs/projects with third party vendors and programs/projects with significant technical and/or regulatory components.
  • At least 5 years previous experience working in a consulting, project/program management and/or dedicated change management function in an organizational change leadership role
  • 5+ years of progressive relevant experience managing teams of five or more, with at least three years of that experience as part of matrixed accountability structures
Additional Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in a head of function, head of service line or practice area lead with staff performance management, vendor management, and budgeting responsibility strongly preferred.
  • Education – MBA or graduated degree in relevant field preferred.
  • Accreditations –ACMP Certified Change Management Professional (CCMP) strongly preferred.
  • Financial services industry experience strongly preferred
  • Tools – Microsoft 365, enterprise collaboration platforms, SaaS-based organizational change, analytics and/or project management tools
  • Strategic and tactical organizational change management implementation
  • Communication, presentation, and facilitation skills with a focus on engaging senior executives
  • Assessing and utilizing relevant technology, standards, methodologies and aligning to audit requirements
  • Long-term coaching and trusted advisor experience from an OCM perspective
  • Experience managing contingent workforce and vendor relationships with third-party consulting resources
  • Demonstrated record of agile thinking, influencing and communicating effectively

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU? Compensation Starting base salary: $127,626 - $237,014 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
