SUPERVISOR ACCOUNTING
WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY? This role will function as a Supervisor for the Controllers department within the Finance Division. The Accounting Supervisor will manage (prepare or review) the accounting tasks of the department, accounting month end close, internal / external audits, review of the monthly entries, review the work of junior accountants, help train/provide guidance to junior accountants, supervise, assist with analytical research (income statement, balance sheet), enhance internal controls, assist with improving and simplifying various accounting and reporting processes, assist with decision-making, lead ad-hoc projects, and act as a backup for some responsibilities of the Manager of Accounting Operations.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Perform and/or review standard monthly, quarterly and year-end deliverables including closing process, general ledger activities for both U.S. GAAP and IFRS, and the balance sheet account reconciliation process.
- Supervise and provide guidance to junior accountants within the department.
- Periodically review and assess the responsibilities of the junior accountants and re-align when appropriate.
- Provide financial information to management by research and analyzing accounting data and preparing reports.
- Assist with/review investment accounting/operations tasks.
- Assist with requests from both internal and external parties and fulfill those requests independently.
- Supervise/respond to inquiries from other groups in the bank related to financial results and accounting record.
- Participate in the testing of the internal accounting system (PeopleSoft) and investment accounting system (TPG) related to enhancements, upgrades and other system implementation initiatives.
- Create, maintain, or update procedures related to the accounting and reporting functions of the group.
- Support the Bank's heightened standards and regulatory remediation, as well as identify risks and recommend/implement controls to mitigate those risks.
- Seek to “Simplify and Transform” the processes within department by continually looking for ways to do things better, simpler, more efficiently, all while improving accuracy and timeliness.
- Conduct special projects and participates in various initiatives as needed.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
Required Qualifications*
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience
- Emphasis in Finance or Accounting preferred.
- Experience in the financial services industry, banking background preferred.
- Supervisory or Management experience
- Certified Public Accountant (“CPA”) or working towards the completion of becoming a CPA, or equivalent work experience preferred
- Ability to accurately, thoroughly and efficiently organize/analyze data into simple, complete and concise format
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Motivated self-starter with analytical mind
- Experience working with PeopleSoft Financials or other related platforms.
- Ability to supervise, train and mentor colleagues while handling the day to day individual responsibilities
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of colleagues and management, both within the Finance division and throughout the Bank.
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU? Compensation Starting base salary: $78,970 - $126,140 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
