Description
The Information Technology Branch of the Edmonton Police Service requires an experienced Network Analyst to supplement the existing Network Operations team. The successful candidate must be a self-motivated and organized individual with relevant and proven technical and interpersonal skills who will become part of a team responsible for maintaining and extending the wired and wireless network capabilities of a secured, enterprise-level routed network environment. Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage Cisco 9000 series switches using ACI technology.
- Implement and maintain network hardening and monitoring solutions using Cisco ISE and Cisco Catalyst Center.
- Configure, manage, and support Checkpoint and Cisco ASA firewalls.
- Proficiency in Cisco routers and data center switches, good knowledge for designing networks using protocols like OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP.
- Manage and maintain Cisco Wireless Infrastructure.
- Design, monitor, and secure IP networks across Ethernet, copper, fiber, and wireless environments.
- Develop and implement network disaster recovery plans to ensure network resilience and data integrity.
- Support and manage networking within Azure.
- Implement and manage network load balancers such as F5 or NetScaler.
- Monitor logs on on-prem log servers/ devices including MS sentinel.
- Perform day-to-day onsite operation and participate in a 24x7 call-out schedule.
- Plan and execute network upgrades, expansions, and migrations as required.
- Document and maintain all network solutions, including a high number of remote network locations.
- Provide network LAN support, patching of fiber/ copper network cables using specialized tools.
- Collaborate with vendors to evaluate and procure network equipment, software, and services.
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to understand network requirements and expectations.
